Yas is a self taught abstract artist based in Toronto.

To her, abstract art mirrors life: a practice of creating and recreating, working through chaos, growing in the process, and learning when to let go.

Guided by her heart and intuition, she builds her paintings layer by layer with paint, texture, energy, colour, and emotion until each piece finds its own voice and begins to speak for itself, inviting the viewer into their own emotional experience.

Raised between cultures, she draws on Persian symbolism, especially the recurring presence of turquoise, a colour long associated with healing, protection, and the artistic and architectural legacy of Iran. It connects her paintings to her heritage, while offering space for others to find their own meaning within them.
